Shadow Armada

Shadow Armada is a game I am currently reviewing for the website. Click here to download it (2.5 MB) if you want to try it. It is a mix, a mix between turn-based and real-time strategy games. There’s ships, missiles, EMP waves, many weapons, uncountable ship classes, and more! It’s also moddable, meaning there is a huge amount of replayability.
The reason I said ‘mixed’, though, is because of the way it plays. You have 90 seconds to make the plan for your turn. The turn executes, then you get to plan again. That’s turn-based. However, the opponents’ turn happens at the same time as yours, meaning that you could collide with each other, miss shots, and so many other funny and crazy situations. It’s a lot of fun and I definately reccommend you try it out, as it is going to be added to the website soon.

Finally, I would like to comment on a recent Nintendo Wii update. On Tuesday an update that enabled the Forecast Channel was released. It allows you to check the weather all over the world, with a 3D globe you can spin to look at different locations. It has a five day forecast and overall is decent, even though much could be improved. By Christmas I’ll have a video of it up in the Nintendo Wii section.

Well, that’s it for now. Until next time,

Elebits, the FPS with a… gravity gun?

Elebits is a game made exclusively for the Nintendo Wii. Made by Konami, Elebits features these little creatures that provide a mysterious energy force more powerful than that of nuclear, wind, solar, hydro…

It started when a lightning bolt came down from the sky and terrified the citizens. However, in the aftermath, they found elebits, and started using them for power. They lived in harmony until another lightning bolt came down and since them they have been in hiding. You take control of a 10-year-old kid who wants revenge on these tiny creatures, through use of a gravity-gun-ish weapon that can pick anything up and capture Elebits.

Yes, it’s a bit of a cooky story, however the gameplay is easy to pick up and a lot of fun. You simply point at objects and pull the trigger to fire the capture gun. After which you can fling them around for fun. It gets very frantic and is a lot of fun, especially considering the easy controls. Plus there’s multiplayer mayhem available, along with a neat level editor.

Anyway, my review will be up a little while after Christmas. Also, for those wondering, yes I’m still playing through The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess… it’s a monster to try to complete.

Till next time,

Cat lovers, rejoice! Also, Wii problems fixed… sorta.

Hi all! I thought I’d show some great pics of my cat, Jazz, for all to see. But before I do that, for those of you who were able to snatch up a Nintendo Wii so far, firstly, congrats! Second, if you are worried about the whole wrist-strap breaking problem that has had crazy pictures appearing on the internet, you worries are over. Nintendo is finally releasing a voluntary replacement program so that you can have new wrist straps mailed to you, which are thicker than the current ones. Shipping has already started, so get a move on and have the straps replaced!

Anyway, here are the cat pics(well, after the break): Read more

Christmas Tree!

Hi, Christmas is almost here! So, to celebrate this soon-to-be-here holiday, many will get Christmas trees. Well, on Sunday I got mine and here it is:

The Tree The Tree, with lights

Nice tree, eh? I got it from Fred’s Trees, a little place in the countrysides near Markham, Ontario. Believe it or not, it’s only $25.00! Of course Jazz, my cat, is interested:

Yes Jazz, it is a tree

So, happy holidays blog readers!

Videos?

Todays update is practically fully on videos. My website’s videos, that is. The video section is experiencing a major facelift, along with the rest of the site. Soon it will be a lot more user-friendly.

Anyway, this is just a quick post. I’d like to point out a new FredTheMonkey mini-cartoon, called Hide and Seek. It’s a webcam episode, and is currently on the homepage for all your viewing pleasure. For those who haven’t heard of FredTheMonkey, check it out at FredTheMonkey.com.

Finally, Spooks and Liquisity have been added to the games selection. Spooks is a really fun adventure game, as long as you can get past the pixelized style the artist was going for. Liquisity is an underwater puzzle game, made by Vertigo Games, an often-posting game creator.

Anyway, see you online,

Painting!

Hey blog readers, I’m writing to you with news of the events of my weekend. It was pretty usual, except for Saturday… I went out with some friends to buy some canvas, then we all painted a beautiful abstract picture. Anyway, here’s a pic:

The Painting

So, looks nice doesn’t it? Especially for just an afternoon’s work!

Anyway, I’m working on a major update to the games section… soon it will be a lot better to navigate. Anyway, I’ve added Cave Story and Pixel War!, as well as Spooks. Try them all out, they’re great games.
