Cubetoons? FredTheMonkey?

I know you’re thinking, “What’s Cubetoons?” after reading that title. Well, Cubetoons and FredTheMonkey are both cartoons created by JKR.

Cubetoons is a gaming-related comic which features people from the IGN crew (IGN.com), like Matt, Creig, and Bozon. It also commonly features JKR. It is updated once-every-few-weeks-ish and is almost always commenting on current gaming news.

FredTheMonkey is update every other week, usually on Fridays. Fred (a monkey) is one of the main characters, along with SCEB (Space Chicken’s Evil Brother) and SC (Space Chicken), who are both space chickens. There’s also Cloe and Mr. D, both humans, and finally Clydex, who’s a platypus. Just ask him.

FredTheMonkey is animated, and very funny to watch. There’s always disagreement going on between the group, funny antics, and email-answering mailbags.

Anyway, these are both great cartoons/comics which I commonly read (and watch!). I would definately suggest you check them out for a good laugh.

New Host!

Hey,

I’ve just switched to DreamHost for website hosting! So far, the service has been great. Also, this blog is now managed by WordPress, hosted on DreamHost.

Anyway, there’s now reviews for the Nintendo Wii console and Rayman Raving Rabbids up on the website. I’m still playing through The Legend of Zelda, so it’s review might not be up in a while.

So, happy browsing!

It’s here! (Wii)

Okay, I got my Nintendo Wii this morning and it is awesome! It works (almost) perfectly and the games rock! Plus, I have an interesting story on how I scored one. Read on…

I woke up at around 7:30 AM, planning to reach Loblaws at around 8, as I didn’t think anyone would go there for gaming. I got there at like 8:10, and what do you know? They’re open, and completely out of units. 30 ppl had lined up overnight.

Next I went over to Markville Mall. I tried Walmart - 200 ppl line up, they were sold out. Drove past Best Buy, didn’t bother ’cause there was such a large line. Went to Toys R’ Us, stood in line for a bit then found that I was in the line for Pre-order customers, went up and found out they took names anyway for non-preorder customers. Went to EB Games, packed as expected.

Now I had tried every store I could think of, yet I didn’t let that get me down. I knew I’d get one. So, I walked by Best Buy and started asking an employee about where it would be best to look to get one. He suggested Future Shop. I was going to go when a couple exited the store, one of them with a Wii. The other one had a reserve ticket that they didn’t need anymore (they each had gotten a ticket). I jumped on opportunity and bought the ticket for $40.00.

And thus I got the console. I was able to get Rayman and Zelda with it, but there were no controllers left. Speaking of that, I mentioned how I was hoping to do multiplayer and suddenly one of the employees commented he thought he saw one lying around. Moments later, I had another controller. What are the odds.

Anyway, so everything worked perfectly. I’ve been playing Zelda, it’s fantastic (I’ll comment on it in the Wii section of FWCentral). Rayman is absolutely hilareous. And I’ve tried Wii Sports with my family, and it actually gets them playing! They don’t play video games, mind you, so I really think Nintendo hit the jackpot with their Wii console.

Anyway, I’ll be putting up my Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess review in a few weeks. It’s going to take that long to beat it. And the Wii review will be up in the next few days.

Keep playing,

Just a few days…

Hey blog readers,

I wanted to take the time to write something that would be useful to readers everywhere. However, instead I’ll talk about what’s just 5 days away…

The Nintendo Wii. It’s coming out this Sunday, and I really can’t wait. For those who don’t know, the Nintendo Wii is the next big console from Nintendo. It uses remote-shaped controllers that are motion sensitive, and looks like it’ll redifine gaming. I can’t wait to start playing Zelda and Rayman Raving Rabbids, the two launch games that I’m getting with it.

Anyway, it’s just five days right?
